Maria Satira

Maria Satira is a knowledgeable multi-media professional with more than a decade of experience in journalism, media relations, marketing, and communications. As the director of marketing and communications at the Greenville ENC Alliance, she leads community promotion and outreach efforts to assist with business development, strategic partnerships, and talent attraction and retention. Prior to joining the Alliance in 2020, Maria was a news anchor in Greenville and also spent time in newsrooms in Winchester, Virginia; Wilmington, North Carolina; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She wrote the book, "An Introduction to Media Relations for Nonprofit Organizations" and has spoken to several economic development groups about the power of marketing and public relations. She serves on the Southern Economic Development Council's Communications Committee as well as the Young Professionals Advisory Committee. Maria is passionate about community involvement and has volunteered with various nonprofits including the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina, Riley’s Army, Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge, and Better Business Bureau of Eastern Carolinas. She is also actively involved in the Young Professionals of Pitt County and was named the 2021 Young Professional of the Year by the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce. The Pittsburgh area native holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Arts from Robert Morris University and now calls Greenville home, where she lives with her husband, daughter, and two mixed-breed rescue dogs.
