The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, a national leader in family medicine, is a 40-year-old medical school with a strong primary care orientation. According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, the school ranked first in North Carolina and second nationwide. The group also found that no other medical school in North Carolina - and only one other in the nation - has produced a higher percentage of family physicians in the last decade.
