Tricia Smith is an economic development researcher with more than three years of experience working for the state and freelancing for EDA clients. She first discovered economic development while completing her Bachelor of Science degree and interning for the Chamber of Commerce in her home state of Michigan. Tricia also holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economics and is a C2ER-certified Labor Market Analyst. She moved to North Carolina in 2019, inspired by childhood trips to visit her great-grandparents in picturesque Macon County, and quickly fell in love with all the state’s natural beauty from mountains to coast. She currently resides in Wake Forest with her sweet senior dog, Cecelia, and orange tabby boy Wilbur. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, listening to podcasts, home improvement projects, strength training, and spending time with friends and family, including her adorable and fun-loving nephew and niece.
