As the Greenville Eastern North Carolina (ENC) Alliance continues to promote Greenville-Pitt County to internal and external audiences, the economic development organization hired a new staff member to support marketing efforts and event planning. CeCe Wilkerson, a Pitt County native and two-time East Carolina University graduate, joined the Greenville ENC Alliance team to fill the role of communications and events coordinator.
“I’m excited to join the Greenville ENC Alliance because I love the mission of promoting growth and sharing all the great things happening in our thriving community. It’s exciting to be part of a team dedicated to making a difference through economic development and community promotion,” shared Wilkerson. “I’m really looking forward to planning events that bring people together and finding creative ways to tell Greenville’s story. It’s a great chance to connect people and showcase what makes our community special.”
Wilkerson has a background in public sector marketing and event planning. Prior to joining the Alliance, she served as a special events intern for the Greenville City Manager’s Office, where she built meaningful relationships with public and private sectors. She assisted with event planning for community-wide gatherings, including PirateFest, where she worked with companies and brands to secure sponsorships and vendor booths.
“We are excited to have CeCe join our team to assist with communication and digital engagement strategies for our investors, stakeholders, and community. Is it clear that she is passionate about the growth of her hometown, and we look forward to working with her on innovative and unique digital marketing campaigns and special events,” said Maria Satira, vice president of marketing and talent programming for the Greenville ENC Alliance.
CeCe holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a Master of Business Administration with a focus on marketing, both from East Carolina University. In her role as communications and events coordinator, she will leverage her background and experience in special events and marketing to enhance the organization’s social media presence, digital communications, media relations, and engagement of the private and public sectors, as well as the entire Pitt County community.
“As a Pitt County native, it is incredibly meaningful to know that I’ll be contributing to the growth and prosperity of the place I call home,” added Wilkerson. “This community has shaped who I am, and I’m proud to give back in a role that supports its future success. Being able to help highlight our region’s strengths and contribute to its continued progress is both exciting and deeply personal to me.”
Outside of work, Wilkerson enjoys spending time with friends and family and traveling to the beach. To learn more about Wilkerson, click here to read her full biography on the Greenville ENC Alliance website.
